A native of Taiwan, Emily began her study of violin in Taiwan at the age of seven. She comes from a family of music. In 1998 she studied in Chinese Culture University and received a scholarship as a distinction student. In 1999 she moved to Canada where she met Sydney Humphreys who had a great influenced on her later music training. In 2003, Emily received a Bachelors of Music in Performance with distinction and 2006 with master of Music in Performance from McGill University, Her teachers including Yehonaton Berick, Mark Gothoni and Denise Lupien.
Emily moved to Toronto the year of 2008 as a freelance chamber and orchestra musician, She has performed with Toronto Philharmonia, kitchener-waterloo symphony orchestra, Hamilton Philharmonic orchestra, Esprit orchestra, Peterborough Symphony, Georgian Bay symphony, Cathedral Bluff Symphony orchestra, Scarborough Philharmonic, Ontario Philharomonic, Sherbrooke symphony orchestra,
Besides freelance musician Emily has her busy private music studio. Along with teaching and playing she enjoys traveling and reading. Now Emily is in training to become an Alexander Technique teacher. |
